Helper Payments & Payouts

When payment is released

Once payments are enabled, after you and the customer both mark the job complete, the app will initiate your payout according to the payment rules and your account’s payout settings. One person’s confirmation is not enough. Confirming arrival does not release payment.

A cancelled job does not automatically qualify for a payout. An open booking dispute must be reviewed before completion can go ahead.

How long payouts may take

First payout: approximately 7–14 days

Stripe may take about 7–14 days for a first payout after the first successful payment. Account verification, your country, business type, and other factors can affect timing.

Future standard payouts: around 2 business days

For eligible U.S. accounts, funds typically become available for standard payouts in around 2 business days. This is not a promise that your bank will receive money two days after job completion: your payout schedule and bank processing can add time.

Instant payouts: about 30 minutes, if eligible

Eligible helpers may have an instant payout option once it is enabled. Funds may arrive within about 30 minutes. Eligibility depends on Stripe, your available balance, and your supported bank account or debit card. Additional fees may apply; the amount must be shown before you choose an instant payout.

What you need before receiving payouts

When Stripe Connect is enabled, you must complete Stripe’s required account setup and verification, including any requested identity, bank, and tax information. Stripe may ask for more information later. No helper payout setup is available in the app yet.

Platform fees and your expected earnings

Your helper platform fee is 10% of the customer’s offer. Hire My Grandson automatically deducts this fee from your earnings when payment is processed. The customer pays a separate $5 service fee on top of the offer; it is never deducted from your earnings.

Before you accept an invitation or offer to do a job, you will see the customer’s offer, the 10% deduction, and your estimated take-home earnings, and must acknowledge the deduction. After completion, your booking details and job payment records show the payment breakdown and any recorded additional deductions.

Additional helper fees

No separate payment-processing fee is deducted from helpers under the current payment rules. Stripe’s platform processing charges do not reduce your displayed helper earnings. No other helper deduction is configured by this app.

Optional Stripe account or instant-payout fees, if applicable, are separate and must be disclosed before you choose them. This app does not currently offer instant payouts. A recorded payment difference is shown in your final breakdown; if no reason is recorded, it is not presented as a processing fee.

Important: estimates, not guarantees

Weekends, bank holidays, account verification, bank processing, and Stripe processing can cause delays. The times above are general Stripe estimates, not verified settings for a connected Hire My Grandson account. Actual payout options, fees, and timing will depend on the account settings once Stripe Connect is properly configured and verified.

Understanding payment status

Where a booking payment record is available, you can see Pending, Processing, Paid, or Delayed. A recorded payment is different from a payout reaching your bank. Until Stripe is connected, a paid booking means an offline payment was recorded; live Stripe payout status is not available.
